Staggering Poverty

Underfed children,
oppressive dirty staggering poverty,
why this decay?

These Americans and their mental picture
of a quintessential corrupt oligarchy,
lots of arrogant rich, yet millions of poor people.
Wealthy classes not wanting to tax themselves,
and there are those who refuse to take the responsibility
For their social needs.

It only adds annual carnage,
of unprepared people,
dying in the desert.

Border control critical to this nations priorities,
Yet that clean White House,
only focused on building a better Iraq,
talking of profits for an insatiable ruling class.

Why not work on Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador or Nicaragua?
This has become a distasteful immigration addiction,
that keeps others mired as a third world countries.

Tiresome dependence,
Border enforcement,
Tough love of social unrest,
Among the masses,
but where is the true expression of caring,
or is this just all a big test?
