Supernatural After School Special

I feel like SPN is trying to go old school with this episode. Sam being contemplative and Dean being well, Dean.

If someone turned it on without knowing anything about the story they probably would think it was corny, but I found the back-story very interesting. (Young Dean was adorable; I could feel that verbal bitchslap)

As for the monster of the week... no. I got the feeling like the writers got half way through the plot outline and realized that they needed to stick a monster in it somehow.

Which brings me to my biggest issue High School.
Now if this was middle school, I would have understood, middle school is hell, but I'm tired of all of these TV shows making High School look like some desperate Teenage Wasteland (humming). They need to do some Fast Times stuff because then they might write something realistic.
I am not by any means near the popular crowed but no one would do something like the rumor in the beginning. Yes everyone would know, but people have aperences that they need to keep up. Anything that would go down would be underneath the surface. They wouldn't make the girl sit with the loser in the corner. Girls are all about the passive aggression. Just because it is a stereotype doesn’t mean that it’s not true.

Speaking of Girls.
The preview for next week looks pretty badass. Siren Strippers? Well like Dean said, the ghosts are getting smarter. Maybe it is a sign of the apocalypse that hasn’t been spoken about for over a month (most likely/possibly exaggerating)! I love these solid one-episode cases but to leave something open without any sort of closure, or even a passing reference? I should be used to it by now but Dear SPN is it too much to ask for consistency?
