AMBER RAIN
The irritating rain blurs her vision. A herald of the bright snow, lending the world grace in it’s accoutre of whitegray.
She doesn’t like the searing touch of the raindrops, nor the plaintive tones on people’s faces. The rain brings life with it, and then flows away in a torrent, uprooting and destroying, like a kind yet ruthless enemy.
She is wrapped in a cloak of confusion, nothing clear. Life shifts in and out of focus, leaving a hazy imprint on her mind.
Why did you leave me? She wants to ask him.
Had she been just a plaything? No, I loved him.
A few village girls ran past, laughing as they soaked in the welcome showers.
She hated the laughter more than she would ever hate the rain, ringing as clear as a bell in her ears.
She still sits there, silently, and a tear escapes her cheeks. She ignores it, knowing that it’s just a way for the heart to relieve its incessant pain.
Wait! Again he is here, close to her, protecting her, isn’t he? It’s the same shade of amber, she sees it again!
Were his eyes honey, or golden amber? Or more close to flame?
The rain suddenly stops, and she can see him no longer. He fades into oblivion, no longer clear.
Even though she hates the rain, she wishes it would still fall.
For in the seething rain, she still sees a stark yet hazed outline of her Sesshoumaru-sama.
