Week 21 Drabble: Alternate Reality
Title: Help Me

Summary: Inuyasha has time traveled into Feudal Japan, unknowingly carrying the Shikon No Tama, and one of Naraku’s demons has come to collect it from him.
Notes: Hmmm… I’m not too happy with the way this turned out. Hopefully it’s good enough.
Inuyasha glanced around nervously. Where was he…? One minute he had been trying to save his brother’s cat from a well, and now he in some sort of forest completely unfamiliar to him. So far he had been walking in the same direction for almost three hours. He checked his watch. Yes, three hours was about right. He had had no water, no food, and no rest during that amount of time. The last one was his fault, but he just couldn’t seem to sit still.
It seemed as if, in this forest, everything was moving around him. It seemed unnatural, unsafe. He need to find a place to rest and soon. Hopefully, he thought, a safe place to rest.
He heard a bush rustling behind him and turned sharply to face it. He let out a deep breath when he saw only a young girl, about his age, with long black hair. She wore a black and blue kimono. Inuyasha thought that strange for people in 2005 rarely wore kimonos unless for a special occasion. She also wore no shoes…
“Hello,” he started, somewhat awkwardly. “I’m… I’m lost. Do you think you could help me?”
The young woman raised one eyebrow. “And why should I do that?” she asked haughtily.
Inuyasha was a bit taken aback. “Well…”
“But you could help me,” she said quietly, walking towards him.
“Why should I help you, if you won’t help me?” he snapped in return.
She stopped mere inches from him. The girl smirked, and for the first time Inuyasha saw that she had… fangs? “I suppose you won’t be doing it willingly, then?”
His eyes widened in shock as he felt something similar to daggers digging into his gut. He yelled out in pain. They seemed to be moving around, looking for something. He closed his eyes, hoping to shut out the world. When they finally removed themselves from him, Inuyasha fell to the ground in a heap.
He heard the girl laughing. How… How could she laugh at him? Or even do such a thing to him? His labored breathing began to slow as he shut his eyes and let himself die. Anything… Anything to make the pain go away.
The girl looked down at the body of Inuyasha. “Hmph. Stupid human. It didn’t even to seem to know who I was.” She smiled. “Naraku will be pleased. His Kagome came through for him once again…”
