I love the last line! Beautiful writing as always, very visual. I loved this part:
"Kikyo dispassionately bent the stem--relishing in the sound as it snapped where it halved yet still remained bonded--bending away from her but nevertheless remained within her grip."
This gave you a clear image of how she feels/her relationship with Inuyasha. Beautiful work!
When all was thought and typed, it was well over 250 words [smh]. But I must say, I am getting better at editing out "unnecessary" usage of words and keeping the essence of the overall piece. I'm happy to know you liked that part! Exactly! It portrays her thoughts of her past love with the single action, and although she knows he is not to blame, she turns a blind eye to it all and continues on...
Thanks again rickashay, it's always a pleasure reading your thoughts! ^_^
^_^. Why thank you, I agree, she is not my most favorite of characters, but everyone of them no matter of good or evil, has their story, and a depth in characterization can be found if ya dig deep enough...That's why I love these writing communities, it allows you to read about characters you would never try to find when browsing FFnet or other sites, you'd filter out the rest to read only your favorites...
Actually one of the things that RT wanted to show when Kikyou first appeared that someone could love someone and hate them at the same time. You do a good job of showing this aspect of Kikyou.
Ah Kwt, always the one with 411^_^. Wow, it does make sense though, the way in which Kikyo goes about things leads one to believe she hates Inuyasha, but then there are moments when we see that she does in fact care for him, despite her actions or lack there of...
Thank you!!!! After seeing what you said regarding RT's intent concerning Kikyo's characterization, I'm happy and honored that you feel I displayed this well!!
Thank you!!!! That's what I was hoping to show, the part of her that still held I'll regard towards Inuyasha, although she knew he was not to blame. As I said, but didn't put in detail, I was inspired by the ending theme of Inuyasha, which displays Kikyo, Sango, and Kagome. Although this did not actually occur in the animation, the part where she bended the flower was profound to me, and made me think of Inuyasha and her relationship a bit. Aw thanks!! I do love imagery through detail, and you saying I did a good job in that department just made my day! Thank you for your insight!!!
Thanks Possessed!! I'm glad you think so!!Yeah she is a bit of a binotch aint she. Although we do tend do feel sorry for her, if not for the obvious, then for the fact that her judgment and perception often seems so cloudy...

I've noticed most entries to this community are about the minor characters. It's part of why I enjoy reading them so much XD

Though Kikyou was often portrayed as selfish and vengeful, I inexplicably feel sympathy for her character.
