This year I went to three separate fireworks displays. On July 3rd, the city of Berea shot their yearly fireworks off at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds, and the show was okay, but nothing to write home about. The second display was on July 4th at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds. I think this show was for some kind of music festival that they'll be holding annually, and it was pretty darn good. Just over 30 minutes of fireworks with a couple of pseudo-finale teasers.
The third, and by far the best, show was tonight in the city of Brook Park. Every year, Brook Park is known for putting on outstanding fireworks shows, but this year was probably the best they have ever done. Over 25 minutes of continuous fireworks, with at least 4 pseudo-finales, and then a three part finale which was absolutely amazing. There were only two spots in the entire show where there was not either an explosion, or the trails of one in the sky, and those two pauses lasted for no more than three seconds each. My only complaint about the show was the five straight minutes of nothing but red blasts. However, after that they spiced it up with multiple "gum ball" fireworks (the ones that go up, explode, and look like 12 different colors of gum balls falling from the sky with no tails). Absolutely phenomenal!
[Edit: One last thing: I've always wanted to sit close enough to the fireworks where I could practically look straight up. Well, we did tonight. And might I say that the view is amazing. The only downside is the thick film of ash that covered us. The falling chunks of ash were kind of distracting, but the actual residue film was GROSS!]
