“No no no!” Kagome muttered as she frantically flipped through her textbook. None of it made any sense. Her test was in a few hours and she was trying to cram in some last minute studying but her mind refused to cooperate. She had gone to bed last night positive that she understood everything but now it was all a blank to her. She was going to fail, she just knew it!

Inuyasha poked his head through the window, having heard her voice getting louder, a tinge of panic seeping into it. He didn't get what the big deal was. So what if she failed? He didn't see the point of wasting time studying for stupid tests and going to 'skool' anyway. Finding the shards was more important. He opened his mouth to say so but stopped as he caught a glimpse of her face. She really was close to panic.

He sighed. “You need to calm down. You're worrying about nothing.”

Kagome whirled around. “Calm down?! Nothing?! How can you tell me to calm down?! My grades have dropped so low that if I fail this test I'll probably be kicked out of school!”

“Look at yourself! How are you supposed to accomplish anything in this state? I'm telling you, you know this stuff so don't worry. I'll prove it to you,” he said as he spotted her skeptical look and saw how close she was to taking her frustration out on him. “What's the Pythagorean Theorem?” he asked, recalling something he'd heard her mumbling about during her late-night study sessions.

Shocked that he actually paid attention to her studies, Kagome answered automatically. She blinked. “I knew the answer?”

Inuyasha smirked at her. “See? I told ya so. All ya gotta do is calm down and you'll do fine.”

Kagome felt the tension draining out of her as she realized that he was right. “Thank you,” she said as she smiled at him.

“Feh, all I did was remind you of what you already know. Don't gotta thank me for that.” He crossed his arms over his chest.

Her smile grew. “I know, I was thanking you for being such a good friend. Come on, I'll make you some ramen before I head to school.”

“Keh.”
