DoN't GeT DiStRaCTeD
When you are a Christian, you tend to do things differently from the world. You're not going to go to parties every weekend and get trashed, have casual sex, cheat, steal, lie, all the things that unbelievers do. Of course from time to time you may slip up because, face it, you are still human and you can't escape sin. When you have friends in your life that start to make you compromise your relationship with God, you really need to distance yourself from them.
~1 Corinthians 5:7 - Remove this wicked person from among you so that you can stay pure.~
Keeping a close friend that only wants to drink or party isn't really someone that you want to hang around with. You will stumble and you will fall. Remember that you are who you hang with. Keep your mind on Christ and stay pure and persevere. Think of this situation as a test. God is testing you to see how strong your faith is and if you will make sacrifices for Him just as He has done for you.
~James 1:2-4 - Dear brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy. For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything.~
Christ had endured pain for us so why not return the favor and do the same for Him? You'll be blessed immensely when God has seen you strength and your sacrifices. Life's trials are only going make us stronger. Don't get distracted by the 'gifts' that Satan is trying to bribe you with. Don't put yourself in unnecessary temptation. Keep your head up and remember why you are here on earth.
