Regardless of how you feel about jumping on some bandwagon of feeling good about a pithy $20 donation just because the media is telling you to, know that every bit will help in the recovery in what is shaping up to be one of the worst natural disasters to hit any area in a very long time.
And if pure philanthropy, a free ride on a high horse or a sense of having done something doesn't motivate you, perhaps a sense of guilt will. After all, if I am able to donate, being as financially irresponsible as I am (at least according to my low credit score,) why can't YOU donate something?
