In 2008, the U.S. National debt had finally exceeded $10,000,000,000,000. This had never happened and the clock did not have enough places to house all of those zeros. So, naturally, plans were set into motion to add another place. That way we won't have to worry again until we exceed 99,000,000,000,000.
For me the concept of a trillion is rather abstract. Thus, I decided to write out all of the zeros in the previous paragraph. Looking at them, I cannot fathom why anyone would not be concerned. I find it absolutely astounding that the people that we elect to protect us and make things better would be so irresponsible.
So, how can I trust that anything they do with health care is going to fix anything? Republican? Democrat? Doesn't matter. The sheer incompetence is something that all of these people have in common.
And, as Alex pointed out, Obama's solution isn't being thought about at all. They're more interested in doing things right now, instead of doing them right.
I'm going to stop here before I become too angry and have an aneurysm.
P.S. I don't believe in health insurance. I consider it gambling and gambling is illegal in the great state of Texas, from which I hail.
