Curt, man, first off, you know I love you man. I'm not sure what Mick did once that weekend-long firefight was finished, I was out of town for the whole thing, but the fact that it affected you and JLU speaks far more about him than any of us as far as I'm concerned.
What it amounted to was that I posted an opinion about my dislike of Brian Bendis. Other people agreed, and Mick proceeded to attack and insult everyone who posted anything in my comments. I'm sorry, it sucks that this thing affected you or the site in any way, but Mick temper tantruming all over the place when no one had even mentioned his name before he rampaged through the door is just one more example of him being a worthless human being. I know he was a reliable writer, and I respect that, I really truly do. But the fact that you're essentially the only person he can get along with in the community (which is yet another example of you being such a wonderful person, no shit) makes him intolerable to even speak to.
I try not to argue with the guy, but when he comes onto my blog and starts spewing venom at my friends then the guy gets no pity nor mercy from me.
Oh, and I promise that Starman is not a dead title. After a heart-to-heart with Franzy it was decided that I'll be finished the entirety of # 4 myself. I just have to find the time to do so. # 5's finished already, and Mike assures me he's working on # 6. So once I get the second half of # 4 completed the book should start betting back on track with regular releases.
Secret Six, however, is no one's fault but my own, and I'm trying hard to rectify that.
Again Curt, I love you like a brother and I in no way want to cause you trouble or strife. But you know how Mick is and shouldn't be surprised at all by me saying he was the cause of this stupid "flame war" and then couldn't handle the heat of the kitchen.
I was attacked first. I get tired of people bashing Bendis. I get tired of being told my opinions are whack. Etc, etc. As for JLU, I quit because I'm frankly tired with arguing with all of you. Dino most of all. He stalks my livejournal, my facebook which he has admitted, and doesn't even for one second go: "Hey, I'm being an ass, if I leave Mick alone - maybe he will leave me alone."
He just keeps at me. And the truth is, 99.9% of the time, the community does fall in line with everything Dino says when it comes to an opinion. Which is a another reason I get so tempermental. Not one person shares my point of view, or even says: "I just disagree and let's leave it at that."
They try and tell me I'm a dofus for having my opinions. I get the same flack from the writers at digital webbing, but at least I'm not around them all that often.
Curt, I'm sorry I left you hanging. But, I seriously don't need this shit day in and day out. I hope you understand.

mimick wrote: Jun. 14th, 2010 08:36 pm (local) This coming from you is laughable Derrick since in none of your writings have I seen a character act in character, or have I read a story of yours with a plot that made a lick of sense.
In each of these comments, you openly and deliberately attacked people first. You can't lie about being attacked first when your comments are timestamped.
He stalks my livejournal, my facebook which he has admitted, and doesn't even for one second go: "Hey, I'm being an ass, if I leave Mick alone - maybe he will leave me alone."
I've seen your Facebook page all of one time -- when it popped up on the "so and so is friends with so and so" recommendation. And I've checked your LJ when people told me you were attacking me. Which was quite frequently.
Every time I've gone after you has been in response to something you've said. The following was compiled and sent to you in an e-mail when I told you to knock it off:
May 31 - You attack my Captain America run (again) and you attack me personally (again). Without provocation.
May 30 - You demean my run on Nightwing by saying you've taken the book a level above it.
May 29 - You turn a simple conversation about dialogue into a deluge of personal insults. Nothing I said had anything personal about you.
May 23 - You bash the promotion of my latest novel, and by doing so, you insulted not only me, but also Hunter Lambright, Derrick Ferguson, Jason Frank, Joel Jenkins, Josh Reynolds, and Meriades Rai. Again, without provocation.
May 16 - In a review of Kick-Ass, you say Mark Millar and I "drink the same laundry detergent." I've never made any public comments about Kick-Ass, I've never read the comic, so this was not only without provocation, it was without merit.
May 7 - You post a link from your Blogspot claiming a comment authored by someone named Billy was really authored by me. You cite no other evidence to back this up.
May 4 - You attribute the aforementioned comment to me. Again, without a shred of evidence to back it up.
I count about twenty-two entries from you in the month of May. Of those twenty-two, seven of those directly referenced me in a derogatory nature. 32% of your entries have been personal attacks against me. And that's not even counting the comments you've made in other people's journals about me.
Your "I'm an innocent victim" schtick doesn't work. No one buys it.
Just let it go, man. Everyone knows his "I'm the victim, woe is me" shit is exactly that: bullshit. Just don't turn my LJ comments into another shouting match, lol. (and I know you weren't involved with the last bout, just saying)
Sorry, I know you're right. I just have a knee-jerk reaction to clearing my name when it's smeared, even when I know no one believes a word out of his lying mouth.
Never said I was an "innocent victim" that's your schitick. You don't like me being prickly. Then don't read my comments. But, when I call you guys on trying to provoke me, and belittling my opinions. Don't expect me to hold back. I will DEFEND myself. I don't care about your feelings, and I don't care what you have accomplished. I am not some one who will lie down and be stomped all over.
