1. I got the aranesp shot. It's a good think (for a limited meaning of good) that I already had anemia and was getting aranesp, since Medicare (and thus insurance companies) no longer pay for it as part of chemotherapy. If your RBC count is bad, they just want you to accept a blood transfusion. I'd rather avoid that, thanks.
2. The BARD Port was installed in my left shoulder. I now have an ID card I have to carry in my wallet so that emergency medical providers will know that it's there.
3. I slept with Vicodin, prince of pain-relief last night, and anticipate doing the same tonight.
4. I see Dr. B the oncologist tomorrow.
5. I see the radiology nurse on Thursday to have the dressing over my BARD port changed.
I've had things subtracted from my body before. I've had tire patches installed over blown-out incisions. But this is the first major addition. Do I qualify as a cyborg yet?
