The drama continues...
Here's the tab so far for my little highway adventure early Saturday morning.
Cab back to my car - $7
Towing the car - $60
Basic price for examining my car - $40
2 used tire rims because the others are too bent to save - $140
Total so far - $247
He thinks the tires might be ok, but he won't be able to tell until he gets them mounted on rims that aren't bent and inflates them. If the 2 tires have to be replaced they're about $100 apiece. He didn't mention if he found any damage to the undercarriage, so I'm taking that as a small (maybe I'll upgrade that to a large) mercy.
I'm having to use the last of my PTO (paid time off) for Sat & Sun missed because I can't afford to lose the pay with these bills. I was going to save that time for next month for my birthday, or for taking a couple of days before starting a new job, whichever came first.
Even before this, I've put just over $2000 in my car since the beginning of the year. Considering I'm put little other than regular upkeep in it before now, I guess I'm still coming out OK. It's very disheartening, though.
