Looking for some opinions

Apr 10, 2007 01:06

I hate the idea of sounding rude and assholish when dealing with people who are basically waiting on me in some capacity, especially when it's via email and the person who gets the email may not be the one I need to be pissed with. It smacks too much of people who come into my store and bitch me out because of a company policy which I have no authority to change.

I need some feedback and maybe some ideas on what to do if this last effort becomes a dry hole. This is the problem:

I love Christian Kane. I love his acting, I love his voice and I love his music - even though I'm not much of a country fan. I finally decided to order one of Kane's CD through their website. I placed the order on 12/28/06 and received confirmation from Paypal that the money had been transfered.

I knew the order wouldn't make it overnight. I've ordered quite a bit of stuff online and had some of it take all of the 6 weeks they say it might require to arrive. After 2 months and no package or correspondence from them I sent the following email (to, admittedly, the wrong branch of the organization) on 02/20/07:

Hi! There wasn't exactly an email listed to send a query about an order so I
hope this gets to the right place.

On 12/28/06 I placed and order for the Kane - Acoustic Live in London cd.
The Paypal information is below.

Transaction ID: 8FF***************
Item Price: $15.00 USD
Total: $19.05 USD
Buyer: Dawn ********

I knew it was probably going to be awhile before I received it, but it's
going on two months with no further contact. I can be patient for awhile longer,
but is it possible to get an ETA on that cd? Even a ballpark time frame would be
fine.

I'm really anxious to listen to the music.

Thanks for your attention.

Dawn ********

The next day I received the following reply:

From kaneteamers:

Thanks for your note. The order must have been lost. We will send it to the
other address at kanemerch@aol.com and someone will get with you ASAP.

A nice, speedy, polite note. Unfortunately I never got another response. So, on 03/29/07 (over a month later) I sent another email:

Hello. Below is a copy of an email I sent to Kaneteamers by mistake and their
reply to me.

Basically, I ordered a cd on 12/28/06 and payment was accepted. The order seems
to have been misplaced. Part of the further delay is my fault because I didn't
follow up as I should have. But what it comes down to is that I ordered and paid
for a cd 3 months ago - that's a quarter of a year - and have yet to receive my
purchase.

I have other friends who have ordered through your web site and haven't had
these problems so I know it's not common, that my order has just slipped through
the cracks. So now what it comes down to is this: when can I either expect my
purchase or the refund of my money. I'd really much rather have the cd, even
with all the hassles.

Sincerely,

Dawn

Now it's 12 days later and I still haven't heard a thing. I just sent off the following email:

Below is a recap of my correspondence with your organization. It's been 12 days
since my last email and no one has had the good business skills or even the
common courtesy of replying to it. So now I'm sending this email to both
kanemerch and kaneteamers in the hope that someone can tell me what the hell is
going on. It's been 3 months and 12 days since my money was accepted by you
through Paypal and I've yet to see my order. Even after all this hassle and ill
treatment I still would prefer to have the CD but at this point I'd settle for
having my money back.

PLEASE! Would someone have the courtesy to let me know what's happening with my
inquiries and my order.

Thank you.

Dawn

I know there are others on my flist who have ordered from Kane. Has anyone else experienced this kind of shit? I'm really getting frustrated. *sigh* I suppose I don't need help so much as I just needed to vent. I need to give it a couple of days and see if I get a response. I'll let you know what happens.
