I made a new hand lotion yesterday. Well, the lotion wasn't new, it was the same light fluffy summer-weight lotion I've decided is my favorite for warm weather, but the scent was new - Spiced Creamsicle! Wild orange with a little vanilla and just a touch of clove. It was a hit! I does smell yummy.
I haven't made the rounds with the different lotions for awhile, just haven't felt that creative. When I do I try to hit everyone - well, all the ladies anyway, but I guess I missed a couple. Laura back in receiving was never a priority for me. It's not that she's a lesbian but because she's so very butch and kind of standoffish, but nice enough once you get her talking. She was walking down the back of the store past me and I asked if she wanted to try the new lotion. She loved it! I let her sniff the other scents and she immediately ordered one of the Creamsicle and one of the Coconut Lime. She saw the Lavender and ordered one of those too. I reminded her that she hadn't even smelled the Lavender and she said it was for her girlfriend who loved everything lavender. I apologized that I hadn't had her sample them before because I truly thought I'd hit everyone except maybe a couple of the newer cashiers. She said she didn't think I'd had Bree try them either because she would have heard about them from her. Bree also works back in receiving so I don't see either of them very often. Bree is about 5 ft nothing and if she weighs 100 lbs soaking wet I'd be surprised. She apparently likes to buy natural lotions at the local co-op but I guess they're much more expensive there. She immediately ordered a Coco-Vanilla and a Lemon Chiffon! Larry from Tools ordered a bottle of shaving lotion (he'd tried it before and really liked it but was a member of a monthly shave club). Vanessa (a head cashier who's bought a couple of things) liked the orange but ordered a Coconut-Lime that she had sampled from Carole who bought a bottle. I guess I missed Vanessa when I had that one new. She had also just got around to trying the sample of Shaving Lotion I gave her quite some time ago and really liked it.
So that's quite the hefty order! I just made Larry's Shaving Lotion because after tomorrow I won't see him until next week. Hmm, I need to make another batch of the Rose Kashmir (rose cardamom) because there's none of that left. Oh! And I forgot to check but I think I have a bottle of Lavender and one of Lemon Chiffon in my little box at work. So then I'd just have to make a Creamscile, a double batch of Coconut Lime and a Coco-Vanilla.
I think my interest in my Lotions and Potions has been invigorated! There's a clay facial cleanser that I've been wanting to try and a hair conditioner, too. Too bad I don't have that 3-day weekend coming up I was kind of counting on (I'm scheduled as a cashier from 8am-2pm on Sun because it's the weekend before the 4th), but that's OK. It actually doesn't take that long to make a lotion, it's just the 20 minutes while it heats and then the down-time when it cools. I only have the equipment to make 2 batches of lotion at the same time. It's just not practical for me to buy more right now.
As a self-review of my products so far, the Facial Gel Moisturizer continues to be my favorite formula so far. Nothing is going to stop me from sweating like a race horse but I think my face has less of an oily sheen since I've been using the gel regularly. Unfortunately the under-eye treatment that I've been using religiously in an attempt to eradicate (hell, I'd settle for lessen) the bags and dark circles under my eyes isn't all that effective. I had a bad reaction when I used the Eyeseryl solution at 3% in my first try. In my second try I used the facial gel as a base and began at 2% Eyeseryl. No bad reaction so I upped it to 2.5 and then 3%. I'm going to try upping it again another .5% (you can use it up to 10% supposedly). The overall appearance of the area surrounding my eyes is better but I think that's down to the moisturizing gel and consistent application. I know that test results with the Eyeseryl showed improvement at even 1% but I think we're talking microscopic. I need more than that. But never fear! There are more dark circle products to try. Also, I still adore the Foaming Silk Facial Cleanser in the little foamer bottle. It really cleans my face without stripping it of natural oils.
Oh well, off to print labels and then clean up and get lunch ready for tomorrow. By then it'll be time to take a shower and crawl into bed. It's gotten down into the 50s the last couple of nights (and for the next 2). Great sleeping weather! Oooh! After a cool, grey rainy day the sun is out. I'll enjoy it while I can.
