Holy shit. I am so freaking exhausted

When Sharon (the lady who does the bulk of the price changes at work) is here the number of price changes per day ranges anywhere from 50 to 125. Sometimes we'll get over 200. Sharon takes off all holidays. Since she isn't direct customer service and she's been with the company for about 15 years she can get away with it. Sometimes the number of prices changes rises around holidays but not always. Wed there were 176 prices changes. Not bad but then I lose the first 2.5 to 3 hours of the day on my main job. I left work an hour past my scheduled time. Thurs there were only 144 but I was given a couple of extra pricing tasks that took up time. I was able to leave work only 20 minutes late. Today there were 276 price changes. That still would have been doable in the allotted time but more than 120 of them were fashion lighting which means I not only had to change the pricing label on the shelf but also go up a ladder and change the hanging tag on the lighting fixture itself. That means that those 120 price changes becames 240. And some of those tags have extra signage that had to be detached and reattached to the new tag. It took me from 4:30 in the morning until 11 am just to do lighting. I must have made 50 trips up that fucking ladder. And then I had to finish the rest of the price changes. Instead of leaving at my scheduled noon I left about 2:45, nearly an 11 hour shift. I am too freaking old to be pulling 11 hour shifts.

I was supposed to go grocery shopping after work but there was no way. I made a short trip to store to pick up something for dinner I wouldn't have to work for. I decided on my favorite frozen pizza - spinach and roasted garlic. While there I made the rounds of the sample tables. I got some tasty baba ganoush on a pretzel chip, some smoked salmon spread on a cracker and some surprisingly good Italian seasoned seafood salad. And then I saw the hummus served with little rice crackers. I love hummus! It wasn't until I was popping the morsel in my mouth that I saw the lid of the container and saw that it was snickerdoodle flavored hummus. Gag! It was not the stuff of my dreams. Luckily close by was some hot sopresotta (a type of spicy salami) samples. I crammed one in my mouth to take away the snickerdoodle hummus then savored another.

I got home, made the agonizing climb up to my apartment then took a very quick shower because I knew I was supposed to get a UPS package and the UPS driver usually comes in late afternoon. After I collapsed on the couch I dug out my phone to check for calls and found a voicemail from the apartment manager letting me know I had a package in the office. GAH! He didn't even leave a note on the door! I was so tempted to just forget it but then I wouldn't be able to get the package until Tues afternoon. So I wearily got dressed and hobbled my way back downstairs and over to the office. I sat there and chatted with Rebecca for awhile sipping on the bottle of water she gave me because I must have looked really whacked. Luckily while a little large and cumbersome the box wasn't heavy.

Now that I've had my pizza and sat for a couple of hours I just feel really tired instead of dead tired. I'm pretty sure I won't make it until 10 pm. At least I have tomorrow off but then I have to work Sun from 8-2:30. At least I'll get to sleep in a little. And that means I have a 3-day weekend next week which is good because I have a couple of more orders to fill and some well overdue house cleaning to do.
