According to the calendar it might not be summer yet but...

When fuzzy cherry tomato sized bumblebees are hovering in the stairwells like miniature dirigibles you now that summer isn't far away.

It's been a little warm the last couple of days, enough so that I've had to turn on the a/c before going to bed so I can cool off the apartment and close out the sound and then open up the apartment around 10 pm when I wake up to pee. It's a little cooler today but much more humid because a storm in blowing in. Tomorrow it'll be a lot cooler. As I've said, it's Missouri, if you don't like the weather just hang on a few minutes, it'll change.

Well, I just had to close up the apartment and turn on the a/c because the storm hit and there's a hard wind blowing the rain directly in the windows and balcony door. It's too warm and humid to do without either open windows or the a/c.

There's a lady at work that I despaired of ever selling her anything. She has a very sensitive sense of smell and there are a lot of things she just doesn't like. She also has psoriasis and sensitive skin. But today I hit the jackpot! She likes the Facial Moisturizing Gel (despite what she calls the fairly strong scent of rose - one of her dislikes - though there's maybe a half a teaspoon of rosewater per each jar of gel), the Grapefruit Sugar Scrub and the Peppermint Foot Balm. At the end of the month she's moving to another store so she wants to stock up so she ordered 3 of each! I told her I would be sure she had my phone number before she left so she could call and re-order if she liked. I've given thoughts to making up simple cards to hand out because I probably won't stay at Lowe's for much longer because I can't get full time but I don't want to lose my customers. I don't know whether to go with something very simple that I can print myself or price having them professionally made. I'll probably go with self printed for now just to keep costs down. I've had an offer to help with a logo that I'll probably take.

The first lady who ordered the facial gel (plus 1 jar each of the two foot balms and two scrubs) put her little red jar of gel under the paint counter where she works. She forgot to take it home with her and when she came back it was gone. I have one more jar of the original 8 I made left and I'm going to go ahead and give her another one because she's been such a good customer.

I've given a lot of thought the last week or so as to whether I want to step-up sales by going online (probably Etsy) but I'm not ready to go there yet. The chances
of me immediately becoming busy are slim in the extreme but I'm not ready financially to head into that yet. Also, after a lot of thought I realize that what I really love about this hobby is the experimentation and not the mass production of a few formulas. So, I guess I have a lot of thinking to do.

This weekend I have a mass amount of the Peppermint Foot Balm to make and only a slightly lesser amount of Sugar Scrub and I still have to make up a somewhat exfoliating yet moisturizing hand lotion for the lady with hyperkeritosis on the palms of her hands. And I still haven't had time to perfect a lip balm base that I really like.

I should have been working on some of these things this week after work but I've been exceptionally tired and my left hip is bothering me so more standing just wasn't appealing.

I know I've said this before but it's been awhile so here it is again: if anything I make sounds appealing to you I'll be glad to mail it out to you. The 2 foot balms and the sugar and salt scrubs are $5 apiece and everything else is $4.

I did manage to replant all of my little plantlings this week. There's only a few seeds left to plant at the feet of the tomatoes and peppers and then when the kale is done I need to plant some Rainbow Chard.

Now, even though I'm currently fascinated with the re-run of Season 2 of Next Iron Chef (which I haven't seen before - even though I know the outcome), I think I'm going to wrap things up and go to bed early since I'm so damn tired.
