I have a question about formatting (or actually re-formatting) docs to which I'm pretty sure the answer is 'Quit being so damn anal and get over your persnickety self!'
When I first began reading and writing fanfic I realized that instead of simply indenting each new paragraph you put a space between paragraphs without the indent. It took me awhile to get used to this form, but now it's what I expect to see. Even reading published books takes me aback a little when I see the 'old' format and trying to read fanfic that way drives me a little loopy for some reason.
Anyway, is there any way to take an existing doc (in this case fic that I've cut and pasted to a new doc) and remove the indents without doing it one paragraph at a time? Because believe me, I will do it the hard way even though the fic is over 400 pages. The author's formatting seems to change from chapter to chapter. Sometimes it's indented paragraphs with no spaces between. Sometimes it's indented paragraphs with spaces between. There are two chapters in the middle that are 'fanfic' style (no indents with spaces). This all drives the orderly part of my mind (which granted isn't all the big and mostly has to do with the written word) bonkers.
So, is there any shortcut? Or must I work on it a bit at a time and eventually (in a couple of years) get it done?
