I'm kinda sick of this shit

Monday night I maybe got 4 hours of sleep. When I went to bed to just sort of drifted in limbo - you know, not really awake but not really asleep - for probably close to 2 hours before I was able to drop off; then the rest of the night was plagued with leg cramps. Tuesday night night I guess I slept OK but that was only after I stayed up until around 1 am and then I was up by 8 am even though Wed is my day off. I took about an hour and a half nap yesterday afternoon and I had no trouble falling asleep fairly quickly after I went to bed at 11 pm, but around 1 I woke up (sort of), drifted in that limbo for about an hour and a half before I had to go to the bathroom, and now at 4:30, a little less than an hour before the alarm was going to go off, I gave up and got up. So, I have a work day - stressful enough as it is - on a little more than 2 hours sleep.

I'll try the melatonin tonight. It's a tricky thing for me, though. I have to take it and then pretty much go to bed immediately because if I can't fall asleep as soon as I start getting drowsy then I'll spend the night in limbo. And if I can't get close to a full 8 hours' sleep then I'll feel heavy and groggy the next day. I'm not sure how that would feel different that what I'm going to have to endure today, though.

*sigh* I'm not usually plagued by insomnia but when I am, it tends to hang on tenaciously for awhile.
