Fuck me! And fuck this damn heat wave.
It's 111 F right now with a heat index of 115. That's about 6 degrees hotter than predicted and if it had even hit 106 it would have been the hottest day we've had here in over 30 years. Last night it was still 90 at 10:30 pm. Thank god the humidity is only 20% instead of hovering around 50% while still being close to 100. We haven't had a run of days this hot (it's been between 95 and 101 for nearly 2 weeks) since the 50s. I guess we're supposed to have a break in this 100+ tomorrow - it's only getting up to 95, but it's raining tonight so the humidity will skyrocket and we'll all steam like broccoli.
After I clocked out I went out to the garden center to pick up a couple of rosemary plants (nice big healthy ones) that had been marked down to 50 cents) and it was like walking into an oven - with fans. There are these huge fans in the ceiling, each about 6-7 ft across, that were merely stirring the hot air around. Dave (store mgr) dubbed them BAF (big ass fans). *G*
There's no way in hell I could ever work in the garden center no matter how much it would interest me.
Phouka keeps wanting to go outside and I've been putting him off but the plants need to be watered (big surprise) even though I watered them good this morning before I left for work. *sigh* I really don't want to open that door. Especially since I'm all showered and cool now. *headdesk*
