A fit of the woobies eclipsed the Zen for about 10 min today

When your day at work begins before you even clock in one of the backroom managers telling you that you have counts and bin exceptions (things they usually do but we've had to do because they're so short handed) you know it's going to be...not a smooth day. And it just continued. But an hour before shift ended when I was told I couldn't really shouldn't take my day off tomorrow because the remodel crew is setting up the infants department tomorrow, I got a little sniffly for about 10 min before I got myself under control.

If I'd told Chris that I had plans for tomorrow they wouldn't have pushed it. The old dept mgr Kathy told me that she and Heather (my hopefully soon to be assistant) could cover it (which was very sweet of her considering I know she's got her hands full with the torn up departments, etc.) but I declined. I told mgmt I'd be in tomorrow if I could have Fri off to go with my Sat. they agreed. So 2 days off in return for changing my plans and working the next 2 days. I was already starting to get a little woobie and Chris asked me if I was alright and I told him yes, I was just exhausted like everyone else.

And I am exhausted. At least Evelyn is back from her sick leave and Heather will be able to help me out at least part of the time.

So I picked up a rotisserie chicken at work so I wouldn't have to cook (or think of something else for lunch tomorrow) and just ate protein for dinner so I could have the biggest damn bowl of chocolate ice cream for dessert. Yes, it's low carb ice cream but it's not 'no carb', especially when you throw in a banana. Plus I had some Lime & Salt popcorn for after while watching The Borgias. I'm about to watch ep 5. It's really quite enjoyable. But of course I love the Renaissance period.

It also helps immensely that this first day of summer is lovely and cool and blessedly low in humidity. It might be pushing in a storm but it's not here yet and that just means I won't have to water my garden.

See? I am determined to sweeten up these lemons as much as I possibly can because tomorrow is probably going to be a total bitch.

work, the borgias
