I go to BioLife to sell plasma on Mon and Wed after work. Today was a bust because - and this is a first for me - my iron was too low. It has to be at 38 and mine was 36. Even when I went through premature menopause and bled for more than a whole year, my iron was never low. It's a bummer because not only do I miss the money for today, but I'll miss the $10 bonus on Wed (that's assuming my iron is back up) for the second donation of the week. I could have moved my days to Tues and Thurs this week but then I'd only be able to donate once next week anyway because I wouldn't be able to do my regular M-W and I won't be here next Thurs - Escapade!
So I went down to the nearest Walmart to get some iron supplements (they were out!) and wound up buying another $80 in clothes. I've spent more on clothes in the last 3 days than I have in the previous 3 years! Of course, some of the stuff I bought today means I'm taking about $50 of the clothes I bought on Sat. Plus, nearly $75 of the clothes and the shoes are suitable for work. So I don't feel too terribly bad.
E-day is fast approaching (although not fast enough) and the excitement is starting to ramp up.
On the downside, I found out at work today that they're going to start cracking down on more limited hours for employees categorized as part-time (that's me). Supposedly as a part-time person, my maximum number of hours except on a very occasional basis in 33. Even with my raise in effect, I really can't make it comfortably on that. Hell, I only have a little wiggle room with the visits to the plasma bank.
When I get back from Escapade I had intended on starting the job search again now that I have internet at home but I'm pretty darn sure it's going to take awhile to get something suitable. *sigh* I'll talk to Rich (the assistant manager that just took over the clothing area this week and see what my options are.
Well, for right now I'm going to play Scarlett O'Hara: I don't want to think about that now. After all...tomorrow is another day!
escapade,
work,
i'm an unexpected clothes horse!
