Time to break out my exercise icon again. What? He's totally exercising!

So I'm trying to get my ass out of this chair and away from the computer and get moving. No offense guys, I love you, you know I do but it's a somewhat dysfunctional relationship (me and my computer that is). I've got the urge to get myself back under control and continue the weight loss again and I have to strike while the drive is with me. I have 7 lbs to shed that I lost last year and that crept back on (yeah, totally have no idea how that happened). Actually, 6 days ago it was 10 lbs regained but I've lost 3.

It's not so much the eating although I have to trim back the fat content a little, it's mostly that I've been so sedentary the last few months. So beginning last Monday I started exercising again.

I hate to exercise. I don't mind going out and being active, it's just moving for the sake of exercising that I hate. With a passion.

I measured out a 1/2 mile loop from the bottom of my stairs, around the strip of businesses on the busy street in front of my apartment complex and I've walked it every other night since Mon. My goal is for every night until it gets so hot that I can't. Then I'll have to make alternate plans. I'm not a morning person. I know if I tried to haul my ass out of bed at the crack of dawn to do this, the project would be doomed to fail. It's getting warm enough that I can't walk during the day, either. The idea is to sweat a little but not suffer a heat stroke. So I walk at night! Between 11 and midnight (I just got back). A nice brisk walk to raise my heart rate and respiration and work up a little sweat. (I hate sweating, too )-: I also work about 1/2 hr each day with my hand weights and stretching exercises. I hate it all.

But what I hate even more is how tired and out of shape I feel and the fact peripheral neuropathy from the diabetes is making itself known again in my feet. That shit's gotta go and the hated exercise will help.

So...wish me luck!

exercise, diet, diabetes
