Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men #22, which was originally scheduled for 4/18, was supposed to come out this week (7/4, or really 7/5 in the U.S. since there's a holiday). It has now been pushed to 8/15. Issue #23, which was supposed to come out then, is now scheduled for 9/26, although I find that highly unlikely.
Let me emphasize this: #22 is FOUR months late. That's 1/3 of a year. For a book that theoretically was only coming out every other month to begin with and runs in very leisurely six-issue story arcs. It's worth noting that #21 didn't come out until 5/6 (two months late, if I recall correctly), so obviously #22 had to move a bit. But apparently at some point someone thought 4/18 was attainable. I can't imagine why.
I am just dying for this series to end. I don't even care if the end is particularly good or not. I lost interest in the plot a good while back, and while this arc is better than the last two so far, for me that's not really saying much. Please just get it over with and free up these important characters for more active writers to use!
