Muslims ban tomboys and claim exercising makes you gay!

Actually, it's only girls that need to worry about exercise making them lesbians. Apparently the imams are unaware of the gay gym culture.
I really feel sorry for moderate Muslims when the more extreme (and sadly rather dominant) branches keep acting like crackpots. Not that the more extreme/fundamentalist versions of Christianity and Judaism don't have their own crazy restrictions, but that's generally not Christianity's public face, and while ultra-Orthodox Jews are prominent in Israel they're easily recognized as a distinct subset of Judaism. The perception of Islam in the west is not clear enough to allow for such distinctions. And the fact that the crackpots are so often in charge in the Muslim world doesn't help either. Not that they'd consider improved communications with the infidels "help" anyway.
