First off- WHOO! NEW LAYOUT! Geeze, I change these faster than I change pants!

Second, like Riku said- shit goes down soon. You can feel the tension in the air. Remember those days as a young child when it was so cold outside, and to make yourself warm you huddled under so many blankets it felt like you were going to be squished? Or the time you broke your first bone and all you could do is scream on oxygen - deprived lungs? I don't know how else to describe it. You people know I suck at that.

Anyway, everyone is feeling it. Even the most rambuncious of the boys is knelt in prayer. They keep quietly sharing stories with each other of past fights. They're trying to remind themselves of what all they've faced. They're trying to remind themselves they're strong. It's a tactic we used on the battle field. It amuses me that apparently all fighters use it.

They're seeming a little OCD... constantly loading and reloading their weapons, rushing their hands to their blades, firing shots into the rat holes to make sure their guns still work... they're pumped up for this, whether they realize it or not. I've seen men in this sort of situation.

They'll sleep tonight. They'll sleep well and hard, and about an hour before even Riku gets up, they'll all be awake and ready, pacing around and fidgeting silently and watching the clock like hawks. They'll instinctively seperate themselves into squadrons depending on their weaponry. They'll seek out the ones that taught them the most. They'll be too scared to ask, but they'll all be inwardly begging for prep talks from the ones they deem strongest. Then they'll seek out friends and express their love and appreciation for each other "incase [they] never get the chance". The closer we get, the more nervous they'll be... until the last block or so and their spirits will set, their bravity will take control, and when the fighting starts, they'll be beasts.

I've seen it. I've lived it. I'll never forget it. You never do.

We're all coming back from this. But prayers, wishes, and hopes don't hurt ever.

still high but coming down, prewar, [secretly scared], bravado, wish us luck, new layout, pants, poor kids
