Forgot how good Justin Timberlake is at hosting. Writers are doing a great job of hitting all his strong sketches.
Nice of NBC to remind us how good Timberlake is by running a collapsed version of Kevin Hart's episode from last week which sucked.
I don't know any hosts that brings it like JT in the "Bring it on down to XXX-ville" sketches.
It totally made up for the dating game sketch. I wonder how long it took Martin and Ackroyd to reprise those accents?
Fully admit that I missed the Three Amigos reference until it got pointed out. But if Chevy Chase didn't want to be there, he shouldn't have bothered. He just looked like a sourpuss for not getting into the spirit of the salute before the second song. Perhaps this was some weak attempt to make himself relevant ham gain given the fact he was dumped from Community.
Oh how I've missed Stefon. It's those small moments when Hader has this look of "what is Mulvaney making me say?" and then breaks character that make this sketch for me. I love that they switch it up between dress and live.
Weird misstep with Maine Justice. It made no sense and came off like a mistake. Like they forgot to change the graphic and had to stock with it even though they wrote it for Louisiana. Curious they would use Samberg instead of any if the actual cast members or featured players. It's not like Samberg added anything to the sketch.
So grateful they didn't do the Californians sketch.
