SPRING BREAK!!!!!
aloha from the wonderful world of...schaumburg. what a paradise. so i havent updated in a while. i think im losing interest with this thing. does this mean that the teenage drama has almost come to an end? it will soon. we're old!
so lets see. break has been pretty good thus far. did some shopping and hanging out with the family. thats about it. i have a lot of homework to do, unfortunately. boo school. when i go back, only one and half months until summer! which brings up the topic of me needing to find a job. i sent resumes out for internships, but i dont think i'll get one. maybe i can get one at my dad's work. however, there has been an interesting option in the back of my mind. the other day my dad went to this seminar at work where this lady from university of chicago was speaking about her biology/psychology research on a lot of stuff dealing with smells. well my dad had lunch with her and i guess he told her about me and she offered me a position working in her lab this summer. that would be ideal! thats pretty much the kind of work i want to do. the problems are a) was it a true offer, or just a 'casual offer over lunch', b) commute is really bad...an hour each without traffic and without construction (which there will be) c) if i do it i might have to live in chicago...hm. i feel like this would be the best opportunity. it would open doors to other internships and also give me a reference there becuase it would be a nice place to go for graduate school. so i dont know what to do about this. i dont think i want to live in chicago by myself and have to come home on weekends and such...that would be tough. we'll see how this works out.
in other news, i didn't get housing with those guys so i had to reapply with some girls i know from the flute section and there isnt much left. i might have to live off campus next year. we got put into a lottery, so hopefully i'll be lucky. i havent been lucky thus far. i think i deserve some.
i found a journal i kinda kept two years ago and it was funny reading it. i'm really dumb. the sad thing is, a lot of what i said hasnt changed. i was going to rip it out, but i changed my mind. it should be interesting further in the future.
i thought i had more news, but i guess i dont. i'm boring. bye.
