Wrote the Sun to the Flower

Dear Flower,

My beautiful blossom,

How you inspire my gaze.

You deem my presence day

And I your absence the night.

Though I'm burdened to never rest,

To shine that your Mother Earth

And all her children might live,

The sight of you

Wills me to burn that much brighter.

But alas, that is the blemish of our love.

For though you may lean

Towards my light

And I seek to nourish your bloom,

If by chance we were to move too close

My passion would fray

Your gentle stem

And my words,
Not a rosy blush
To your petals bring
But a flame.

And it pains me

That never will I
Prune your fears and worries

And when I am away

And my dull brother comes,

I can no longer cover you.

But weep not my love,

For when I am gone

And Brother Moon is present

Know that his glow

Is the reflection of the light

I shine for you

And my return will be soon.

But while we are apart

Shun those meddling bees.

For they come to only taste

And flirt with your sisters.

Be weary of humans

For they are selfish

And would tear you from your mother,

Cage you in a false womb

And reduce you to a servant for their eyes.

Away from the
view of the world

And most importantly,

Away from me.

So little flower,

When I return,

Lean towards me and tell me

The secrets of the night

And I will tell you

Of the world outside

Of your field

And this will be our bond.

Sincerely,

The Sun
