update
Hmm, as usual it has been quite a while. I thought I'd give a general update of where I am and what I am doing.
I am just finishing up my 3rd year at Hampshire. I am concentrating in early childhood education with a focus on science. This summer I have an internship at the Museum of Science in Boston. I will be a course assistant in the rising 1st-3rd grade room. This fits in really we with my division III at Hampshire which is science ed. I am going to be focusing on how pre-service education can help teachers learn to teach science in a more meaningful manner. In the fall I will be taking the teaching methods courses at Mount Holyoke, and in the spring I will be student teaching, hopefully in Northampton. Then I will take the MTEL tests to get licensed to teach preK-2nd grade in public schools.
So that is where I am academically. In other news, I am still living with Danner in our lovely apartment. I have received off-campus permission for next year as well, so we will have a total of 3 years in our NoHo apt. Then we plan to move to the Boston area, probably, so Danner can get a good game design job.
This year Alice and I formed a rapper team in the NoHo area called Flesh Wound. It is an all women team and we wear purple kits. We performed in the Hampshire Dance concert last February, and also recently at NEFFA. We may or may not have one more gig before we take a summer break.
I have finished my work for the semester. I have a class on monday at my professor's house, and then a meeting at MHC and my final division II meeting on Thursday. I also have my regular work at the bookstore. Then on Saturday I am off to Boston for 5 weeks of relative down time before my internship starts.
So life is going well and I have the next 5 years or so planned out, which is odd. I have to go to grad school within 5 years of graduating college to keep my teaching license, so that is as far as I have planned.
