Room 307, Tuesday evening
It had been a very long week and a half, knowing that most of the people he saw every day were dealing with their families and worlds and maybe even themselves disappearing, while Dave himself was at home with his parents. He knew there was a decent chance he would never see his school or his girlfriend again. And wouldn't that just take the cake? He'd get to tell all of his friends in Wisconsin that he had a girlfriend, but she no longer existed because their school disappeared.
Fortunately for Dave, he didn't really have many friends in Wisconsin. It was the first time that had ever worked to his advantage. Even more fortunately, those horrible thoughts didn't come to fruition, so he was able to get back into Fandom tonight, in plenty of time for his first final tomorrow. Plus, he saw friendly polar bears on his way into town! Dave was pretty happy with things the way they were right now.
