Biannual Check-in
Because I seemingly update twice a year, and at this point it really is just for myself to see where my mental state has gone, this is the check-in. Reading period just started, I leave for Kenya in less than a month, and I haven't received my visa, or really packed yet. I guess I'm waiting until I get home, which probably isn't the smartest plan. I did, however, get all my shots.
Hopefully getting a snowboard for Christmas, which will not be useful in Kenya, but fun before I leave. Family trip to Puerto Rico this year; hopefully it will be less of a shitshow than the Caymans. Horseback-riding as much as possible before I leave, and I will probably take lessons here at Smith when I get back. The current plan is to do research here as a SURF student this summer, and continue that labwork with White-Ziegler all through next year. Medical school is still my goal, but the "after med school" bit has become more nebulous. Blurring of the formerly finite expectations I have for myself is both a) confusing as hell, and b) hugely stressful.
On the bright side, learning how to jump (on horses).
