What do we hope to find in literature, that we glorify it so? What should it mean to us, that we take solace in others' mistakes, calling their flaws and errors their brilliance, and naming their pain as inspiring? You know, it's really nice to read through my friends page and find something genuinely thought-provoking that someone obviously put effort and care into.

I'd like to believe in "the pen is mightier than the sword", but history has proven that wrong far too many times. But, the pen does seem to last a bit longer.

Well, what I mean in terms of mighty is not necessarily strength, but courage. I went to see Atonement, and it really made me question the nature of literature (as you can see), and if writing really justifies itself, in light of the film.
