Truth is always best. If you keep it from him/her, what are the chances that life will be any better for your friend? Eventually, they'll find out. If you're a good friend, would you rather be the bringer of bad news, or let your friend catch their significant other in the act? Put yourself in the victim's shoes. I'd rather find out from a friend, than walk into the bedroom as an uninvited guest. You tell your friend and there's a chance of a less dramatic, more diplomatic end to the relationship. It doesn't matter which friend it is or how close. A friend is a friend and one way or another I'd tell them.

But let's not forget to be 100% sure. We don't want some chaos on our hands from a little misconception!
