Ok, so I started another entry before this and it got deleted. But I promise it was much more intelligent than this is going to be. Anyway, we're having a great time. We got here yesterday and took a limo to our hostel (cheaper than the 4 cabs we would have needed). I fell asleep at 10 (7 west coast). Pathetic yes I know but necessary after a half hour of sleep the night before.

We had two meetings on Friday. The first was with a media analyst and the second with a professor at NY Law school. I won't bore anyone with details but its incredibly interesting to talk with people in the profession. We finished the day with a Knicks/Bobcats game at Madison Square Garden. We had a great time heckling pretty much everyone and cheering for Spokane's own Adam Morrison (looks even more like a child molester since his GU days). After the game we came back to the hostel and decided to get up to go stand in line to try for SNL tickets that morning. We knew people were already lining up so we left at 3:30 after a 20 minute nap to head downtown. That night/morning we saw our first rat in the subway which was actually kind of a highlight for all of us. Felt like we were real city kids. We got down to NBC, got in line and took turns holding our place and exploring. We wandered through Times Square which was amazing at 4:30 in the morning. Signs were blazing but it was completely empty. We jaywalked the whole square and took tons of touristy pictures from the middle of the empty street. We got our tickets about 7 that morning and headed back to the hostel to get some sleep. Got up the next afternoon and headed to the Museum of TV and Broadcasting where we saw commercials dating back over 50 years.

Quotes:
"The best thing to come out of Scandanavia since blondes" (cigars)
"Can't mess with the funk of a nasty dunk" (Reebok)
"It takes a tough man to raise a tender chicken" (random poultry)

After that we went to the Hard Rock for dinner (my first time). After dinner we wandered the streets for a while before stopping at the Rockefeller Center skating rink. We watched for a little while, clapping and cheering whenever anyone fell over. Hilarious. Going to hell.

Went back and got in line for SNL and missed the cut by 20 people or so (my estimations are horrible by the way). Everyone was disappointed by missing the show and we finally realized we hadn't really slept in two days so we came back to the hostel. Watched SNL on tv and headed to bed.

I had brunch with my cousins who live in the city today. We all had bloody mary's, mimosas or something similar. I had a brazilian daqueri (sp?). Three types of rum and triple sec (just wrote sex instead). Now headed back for an update before going out to find dinner and the night's entertainment. Was mention of a standup at a comedy club somewhere around here. We'll see. I'll update more later but for now I'm running out of time so I'll wrap this up.
Peace. Play nice kids
