THE MOST RANDOM DREAM OF MY LIFE.

So there I was, having a great time at my old daycare (still the age I am now), when the director came and told us some very sobering news. "The Imperial Army is about to attack us. And we are defenseless. Your only hope of surviving this is to hide, and pray that they don't find you." Yikes. So my friends and I found a room and hid.

I, however, did not deem my hiding place satisfactory, and instead went and hid with a different friend. He and I laid underneath a big comforter with pillows over our heads and made it look real lumpy. Who was this guy?, you ask? David Schwimmer. Yes, Ross from "Friends." We were tight. And cuddly underneath that blanket.

The Imperial Army was coming, right? SO WHY WOULDN'T EVERYONE SHUT UP!? I mean if your only hope for survival is to hide, why would you talk and giggle until they get there? Exactly. David/Ross and I screamed at them to shut up, but they wouldn't listen.

THEN under the little cracks in the door, we saw the black shoe-clad feet, in perfect little rows, of the Imperial Soldiers. We froze. Suddenly there was Darth Vadar to my left. David/Ross was safely hidden beneath the blanket, but my left shoulder was showing! So I adjusted myself... which only caused Vadar to notice my movements and... no, not pull out his light saber and attack me... he shot me. And everyone else in the room. With a little automatic hand gun.

I remember my dad (who for some reason was the assistant director of the daycare) being to Vadar's left, and attacking him. After everything was over with, I realized that I had actually NOT been shot, it was just a gash from the ricochetting shell from Vadar's handgun. ("Luckkkkyyyyy.")

As we, the survivors, all gathered at my old house from high school, Batty suddenly appeared. We were calling everyone we knew to see who survived and who didn't (apparently this was a worldwide war). Sadly enough, Ross from Friends bit the dust.

"Doss!" she called out. "Andy Heaton made it! I called his cell and his outgoing voicemail message said that his phone battery had died, but that he is alright, and riding back into town with Josh Buckley and Patrick McDonald!" I breathed a sigh of relief. At least Andy had made it out alive.

My stepmom came over and asked if my dad had made it. I wasn't sure, I told her, because I had seen him fighting Vadar. He had either died in vain or become a hero. When suddenly (to a rhythm of drums and electric guitar) my dad appeared in the distance amidst a cloud of smoke. Yep, he had saved the day. I hugged him and he hugged me tight and then said, "Have you found a job yet?"

I got right to work on that. I knew that Jennifer (my old Banana Republic boss from the spring of 2000) had survived the war, and was staying in my house. I called out, "Hey Jenn, are Sales Associate positions all that you have open at Banana?"

She proceeded to inform me that BR's shaving cream line hadn't been doing too well, and that they needed to hire someone to market it... or just give it away to their "friends from school" (her exact words).

*Then, in real life, Batty came in and woke me up.*

Yes, that was my dream, all of the details I can remember. Definitely one of the most random of my life.

Congrats Andy Heaton, for now being considered a regular in my subconscious.

I'm out. I'm late. But I HAD to document this before it faded away... you know how dreams slip away as the day progresses.

No, seriously, I'm out.
