I was starting school tomorrow. The paperwork had to be completed and James went and registered me. It was really kind of cute. Me in the little school girl's uniform while "Daddy" got me enrolled in the best private catholic school in Los Angeles. He even set me up in a sweet beach house so I could bring friends over after school when I wanted

"No, but I love the water. Do you miss where you grew up?"
I looked at her, my hair falling in my face and gave her a smile. She was so damn beautiful. Did she see me in that dream? Did she feel our connection yet?
I wanted to show her what we were destined to be together. Open her eyes to a world she has yet to understand. She was the princess in the tower and I was going to free her from that prison.

"Sometimes." I admitted to her when she asked me about where I grew up. "I dunno. Everybody always acts like it was so horrible there, but I liked it. I had my brother, and my parents, and all my aunts and uncles all in one place. I miss the sound of the waves when I'm trying to fall asleep."
I looked over at her again and was struck by how pretty she is. All that long dark hair and angular curves, I wonder if that's what people see when they look at me. I don't know. I see the way they look, I don't know what it means but then I think about my Dad and the way he looks at my Mom and I know.

"You're beautiful," I told her honestly as I reached out and gently touched her cheek with my hand. She was so warm. God I couldn't remember what it was like to be so warm.
"Have you seen the city from the rooftops on Sunset avenue yet?" I asked, standing up as I looked down at her. "It's a beautiful view and you can still hear the ocean if you listen closely."

"No." I shook my head at her when she asked me if I'd seen the city on Sunset Avenue. I haven't seen anything that didn't come equipped with someone babysitting me. I was almost inclined to ask Sophia if she was sent here to babysit me too. Like I even need a babysitter. I could probably totally kick Alec's ass.
"Are you going to show me?" I asked her as I stood up and gave her a look that said 'well....'. It only took her a minute to stand up too and I grinned at her.

Pressing her against the passenger side of the car, I had her pinned as I looked deep into those dark eyes that haunted me in my sleep. "They want to keep you locked up tight, but girls like you and me are meant to run wild. You're a princess and the world should be yours for the taking."
I moved a little closer and leaned in to whisper in her ear. "Have you ever been truly kissed? Kissed so hard that you felt it for days and days?" I had a feeling she hadn't yet. She was still so innocent. Pulling back just a bit I gave her a seductive look. "Do you want to be?"

But instead I looked at her, really looked at her and not just enough to see that she was pretty. I felt like I knew her, or I'd met her before and not just the night she saved me from the vampires. I couldn't explain it, I can't explain much.
I didn't say anything at first but then she asked me if I wanted to and I thought about what it's like to dream sometimes and what I do after the dreams.
Instead of giving her an answer I pulled her towards me and let my mouth crash into her's. It was hard at first and then it got softer and she tasted like smoke.

I smiled at her. I kind of want to be her, I can't help it. She's so free and pretty and she knows alot about stuff. Not to mention strong, and lots of other things that I know I can be if my parents will ease up on me for five minutes.
Once we were both in the car I stared at her for a minute as she started it. She pulled away from the beach as I tilted my head and looked at her for a minute. "You're a vampire." I said, because well, it was kind of obvious. "It's okay." I said with a shrug. "My dad's a vampire too."

"You know the truth that they won't understand," I told her, as I turned on the music, but kept it at a volume that we could still hear each other as we talked. The car eased into traffic as I drove us toward town.
"You know I'll never hurt you. I'll never let anyone hurt you either, or let them lock you away."
I looked over at her as we reached town and I parked the car. Turning in my seat, I took her hand in my and pressed them together.
"Do you want to see the view from the roof or do you want to go dancing in the clubs?"

She'll never let anyone lock me away? Too late for that, I was born locked away. I wasn't really locked away on that island but we were never allowed to go into the jungle, which made sense since we were so little but it was still far away from the world.
And now I mostly see the inside of the hotel, unless I have a babysitter with me.
"Let's go dancing." I said impulsively. "I'd never actually been to a club before, but I'd seen them on TV. "And then we can check out the view." I'd already made up my mind so I just winked at her and pulled my hand away before getting out of the car.

"Sup Davey, my girl and I are going through now," I said to the boy I'd played with a couple of times. He had the bites on his thighs to prove it. Talk about being hooked on a feeling.
"Yes, of course," He said, opening the door much to the protest to the people who were waiting.
I took her hand in mine and lead her straight to the center of the dance floor. Music blaring, lights flashing, it was definitely the place to be seen, and we were two hot girls about to be seen by everyone.
I tugged her close, wrapping my arms around her as I moved my body against hers in time to the sensual beats that the dj was spinning.

She was dancing so close to me and even though she was cold I could feel the heat between us. Why doesn't Connor ever notice me this way? I guess it's different because we're girls, boys aren't nearly as bright.
Everyone was watching the two of us dance, and the dj moved easily between fast paced beats and slower darker music. Sophia got really close on the slow parts and I let her, because this was fun. Way better than hanging out in the hotel.
"I need something to drink!" I yelled over the music after a few songs, and took her hand pulling her back to the bar. "What's your name?" I finally asked her as the two of us emerged from the dance floor.

She wanted a drink so I went with her and asked as we approached the bar, "Water, soda, or something stronger?"
When the bartender approached I gave him my order while waiting for her, "Sex on the beach,"
"You got ID?" She asked and I smiled and looked deep into her eyes and in my best thrall voice said,
"Do I need ID?"
"No, what about you, what do you want?"
I looked at her and waited, but whispered in her ear, "My name is Sophia."

"Sex on the beach." I said, mimicking the way she had said it, deep stare and all followed by another wink. The bartender blushed almost a little bit before heading off to get our drinks.
"I don't even know what that is." I told Sophia honestly, but I figured if she was drinking it then it was safe for me to drink it too. After all, she said she wouldn't let anything happen to me and for some reason? I believed her.
The bartender brought our drinks back and it was actually kind of pretty, like fruit juice almost. Except when I took a sip it didn't really taste like juice. Or maybe a combination of juice and that Jim Bean stuff.
"Is this what you do every night?" I asked her, almost shouting over the loud beats the DJ was spinning now.
