topic 34: desperate measures

"I won't be like you," Sophia screamed as she fought the demon in the church. He had already killed her family. Taken away everything that she loved and desired, and now he was stalking towards her with a smirk on his face. He had told her he was going to do something special with her. He would make her just like him. His greatest creation.

"I won't be a monster."

She fought hard, punches, kicks, clawing at his face, but he was stronger than she was. He wanted to kill her more than she wanted to live. Maybe she was too broken from losing her family. Maybe she just didn't have it in her to win. She was just a girl with the potential for greatness. She hadn't been activated yet.

On the church floor, his hands all over her and she blinked back tears as she begged him not to kill her. "Please, no," she whispered, but he kissed her tears away. There was pain as his fangs ripped into her throat. She would be brave, she told herself, and she would greet death with bravery.

She wouldn't give into temptation to find life after death. No matter what he tried to do to convince her otherwise, she would not give in. She was so cold and the world was starting to go black when she felt the bleeding wrist pressed to her lips. Desperation took over and she dug her nails into his arm as she drank greedily.
