mmm life is crazy.
first full week of classes complete and i'm already behind in reading. i couldnt even catch up in a 3 day weekend.
i wrote to talley in an email all the stuff that is going on... here is the skeleton:
+i'm leading a life group with my church
(www.midtowncolumbia.com) but my life group (sort of like small groups) consists
of people that aren't believers, looks like me being intentional with my
relationships wtih them and focusing on them (other life groups look like bible
studies, others are more free form). its similar to how we should be all the time (confession!)
+i'm also on college lead team which means we plan things like tailgates and
spring break trips to NYC which means we get to go on an all expense paid
souting trip to NYC over fall break - HOLLA!!!
+i'm also leading up/planning a new service project for the church with a local
elementary school
+i'm in charge of the paint team (50-60) people for this extreme home make
over project we're doing for Columbia's only family shelter. its going to be
huge, 200-300 volunteers total. kinda scary that i've got so much power in it.
the weekend was good... craziness going down. EVERYone was gone between friday and saturday
friday: LAKE DAY! i learned how to wakeboard (no previous lake sports experience) and i did it one handed!
saturday: slept in for the first time in weeks, river with ash aka alison fry time (didnt have an sunscreen, it was all at home)
sunday: went home for colleen's bday party at my sister's house. and my cousin's stayed the night, watched The Brothers Grim (weird). got a call from Erica saying she was dating bailey offically = HOLY CRAP there was no previous notice of this. apparently it took 2 days from the time they realized they each liked the other.
monday/today: got up really early and went shopping - much more productive than i thought itd be. most event drive from charleston to columbia ever - pulled over before i even got on the interestate, standstill traffic for a wreck half way, then 35 MPH b/c of rain. 3 worst things to happen in one trip. but it was fun. and good ole college leader meeting. its so encouraging. i love Christ.
speaking of which. i need focus. i need to not spread myself thin, i want to do well in a select few things, ie being a follower of Christ. (not doing WUSC this semester)
