Please read about my day!

I'm going crazy right now. I have to write an essay on the iconological vs. semiological readings of Poussin's "Et in Arcadia Ego" and I want to do anything but. I'm not allowed to leave my apartment and after browsing myspace aimlessly for a bit I've decided to update my livejournal.
Here's a bunch of stuff:
- I've been listening to Roxy Music a lot in the past few weeks. They have really suited my mood. Then I went to NYC and Laura played me the first album by the Nice, "Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack," and I loved it. Then I discovered that Davy O'List from the Nice later played in Roxy Music (unfortunately he left before the first album was recorded)! Isn't that just incredible. Wow.
- I saw a lot of very bad bands on Wednesday ("White Whale" is bullshit) that made me feel very negative and sad about the prospect of interesting music being made in 2006 (LJ_yourmom's performance was a notable exception). Then I saw Gang Gang Dance and had more fun than I've had watching a band in a long time. They are really good! Wow!
- This entry is such bullshit. I'm in a seriously bad mood right now.
- I'm eating some pita and hummus right now and entertaining myself by pronouncing hummus Hamas ("mmmm... I love Hamas"). Pretty funny, Trevor.
- I'm wearing my "Brokeback" pyjamas. They have little drawings of two cowboys hanging out in their "home on the range". My unwashed hair is very much a big creepy mane.
- Now I'm looking fun things up on Wikipedia. So far I've looked up: Hamas, hummus, cheddar, Panofsky, Jamaican Patty ("This page is a candidate to be copied to the Wikibooks Cookbook using the Transwiki process"), Wikipedia (I dispute the neutrality of THAT article), etc.
- Oh my god I have so many dirty dishes in my kitchen.
- Progress report: it is now two hours later. I walked almost an hour in the cold rain to fetch my bike which broke down almost an hour away from my place on wednesday. I then stood there in the rain with a wrench and fixed it. Then I came home. Now I'm home. Now I'm going to write an essay. ...I HOPE.
