Eric and Odette. Sounds like a fairytale and starts like one too, a bright young thing who must die before she can live, meeting strange people and learning things along her new and winding path. Until one day, there is a man. He is tall and dashing and her pulse would race every time he looked at her. Only she has no pulse, and he is no man, and things in fairytales are never what they seem. They fall in and out of each other’s lives like rain from a cloud, steady trickles in a race to hit the ground. They’ve been dead a long time.
The first time Odette Archer met Eric Northman she smiled with blood stained lips over the bodies of the men who’d been about to drain him. The year was 1801.
Two hundred and some odd years later she is crowned vampire Queen of the London territories. It's been 50 years since she's last seen him. And outside, it rains.
