It was a warm summer evening in Wiltshire and two young men were entering the sprawling garden outside a large manor house. The brunette’s eyes widened at the sight of a beautiful lake with crystal clear water. Harry pulled away from Draco and walked towards the late, his hand outstretched.
“Do not touch the water,” Draco exclaimed, smacking Harry’s hand away at the last minute as they watched a shadow float near the surface.
“What was that?” Harry asked, watching the water closely.
Draco shrugged. “No clue, all I know is that it likes fresh meat. Father once told me that my grandfather didn’t even know what it was. It was here when the house was built so they just made the gardens around it,” he said, squeezing Harry’s hand as they stared at the shadow circling near the face of the water.
“Have you ever seen it?” Harry asked as Draco pulled him away from the lake.
“Never, and I’m not sure I ever want to actually,” Draco said with a slight shudder at the thought of the creature in the lake.
“Maybe you’re right. Want to show me the rest of the gardens?” Harry asked, kissing Draco softly.
“Let’s go,” Draco said with a smile, and they walked hand in hand down a shrubbery lined path.
