Her teary face was pressed into his chest.
The summer had been perfect; she wasn’t ready to leave.
“I got you something.”
He pulled a carefully wrapped present out of his pocket and gave it to her.
“Open it.”
With shaking hands, she removed the wrappings and found a wooden box.
“It’s a music box.”
She turned it over and found the winder.
After turning it, she opened the box and a soft melody came out.
Tears filled her eyes, again.
“The first song we danced to.”
She nodded and buried her face in his chest as the train whistled.
