Differnce of Opinion

Entering his above-shop apartment, George saw Lavender bent over their round dining table and made his way over to her. Leaning over her shoulder, he kissed her cheek and then asked, “Whatcha looking at?”

“Job listings,” she replied.

Straightening, George pulled out the chair next to hers and sat down. “You’re looking for a job?”

“Yes,” she replied, looking up at him. “I can’t rely on you for everything, George. Plus I want to have something to do with my time.”

“So work for me,” he told her.

“I can’t work for you,” she said, laughing. “It wouldn’t be a real job.”

“Yes it would,” he stated. “You know I’m looking for someone to run the register.”

“I also know that you’ve had several applicants,” she replied. “You can’t tell them all no and give the job to me.”

“Yes I can,” he retorted. “It’s my shop and you’re my girlfriend.”

“Exactly,” she replied. “It wouldn’t be fair to everyone else.”

“You’re mental!” He exclaimed. “I don’t care about anyone else, Lavender, I care about you.”

“Then give the job to somebody else,” she told him. “I’ll find my own job.”

George mumbled curse words under his breath as he stood up.

The next couple of days were quiet around the apartment.  He had done as she had told him to and hired one of the other applicants, a muggleborn right out of Hogwarts, despite wanting to hire her.

He was in the middle of training his new employee when the shop door flew open and Lavender came running in.  Between the smile on her face and the fact that she hadn’t used their private entrance, he knew that something had made her happy.

“I got the job!” She informed him. “I got it!” She clapped her hands together. “I am the new sales person at Everyday Witches!”

Finding her excitement hard to ignore, he smiled and said, “Congrats, luv.”

Her smile grew wider as she leaned over and whispered in his ear, “We’re going to celebrate tonight.”

George felt her shove something into the pocket of his robe before she kissed his cheek and danced out of the shop.

It wasn’t until he had assigned his new employee to stock the shelves that George reached into his pocket. His eyes rose when he felt the lacey material, he knew for a fact that she had worn lacey knickers this morning.

The rest of the day wore on too slowly for George’s liking and it was an hour before they were scheduled to close that he sent his trainee home and assigned his assistant manager the task of locking up the shop for the night.

The main room of their apartment was empty when he reached the top of the stairs.

“Lav?” He called out.

“In here,” she replied.

Pulling off his robe, he pulled her knickers out of the pocket before tossing it onto the sofa and then made his way into the bedroom. He found her sitting at the small vanity he’d bought her for her birthday.

“Shouldn’t you be working?” She asked, smiling at him through the round mirror.

“Thought you might need these,” he said, holding up the pink knickers.

“I don’t think I’ll need them tonight,” she replied as she stood up and smoothed her satin dressing gown.

His eyes traveled down her body and stopped on her hand when he saw it resting on the sash of her dressing gown. He swallowed as she pulled the sash and the gown fell open, revealing her creamy skin.

George found himself in front of her before realizing that his brain had told his legs to move.  Gently, he pushed the shelves down her arms, letting the fabric fall to the floor at her feet.

As he drank in every inch of her skin, he realized how long it had been since they’d made love. They’d been busy and then he’d been a git about the whole job thing.

“I’m proud of you,” he whispered. “So proud, Lav.”

“I know,” she said. “I love you, George.”

“I love you, too,” he replied.

Wordlessly, they worked together to remove his clothes before they came together.

He carried her to the bed and covered her body in kisses before he slid into her. They moved together and soon their room was filled with cries of passion as they reached climax.
