We did it! We have officially done our Monday at Monteith, and we're DONE!!! (insert happy dance here) :)
There were a couple worrisome omens - the rain, of course, but also the painting company that knocked the power out last time was seen with their truck by the same church! And as
ccprince said, several of us refused to get dressed until 6:30 - I wasn't about to put on makeup if the show was going to be canceled again! And when it started raining around 6:00, I think we all figured the gods hated us. But the audience merely moved their chairs under trees or put up umbrellas and waited.
And at 7:00, there we were, Bitz-ing our hearts out, the horn section wailing, with our friends and family cheering us on. We were told that we had to be done by 9:00 - we finished at 8:55, thankyouverymuch! Of course, as with every concert in the park, we had our resident crazy and/or drunk guy, but he was very into it, and limited his craziness/drunkeness to doing interpretative dance with arms only (at least, that's all we could hear on stage). Brad got his voice back after blowing it out the last weekend of "Forum", and we all sounded great, though I'm sure each of us has their opinion on that. :) The audience laughed at our jokes, and stuck around for the whole thing!
It was a great show, but I'm very glad to be done. There were lots of photographers there, theater friends and otherwise, so hopefully there'll be some pictures soon.
And guess what? WE'RE DONE!!!!! :)
