[Hawke's been quiet for a while now. Anyone who knows him should know just how odd that is in and of itself. He sits in the stables bar sipping at a bottle of...something. He wasn't really paying to what it was when he grabbed it. All he knew was that he wanted something alcoholic

You found me. Now it's your turn to hide.

Perhaps a drink first. Mind if I sit?

A drink always comes first.
[Hawke reaches out and pulls the seat out for her.]

Are you alright?
[Straight to the point.]
Reply
When am I not alright?
[Really Vie does this look like a man with a problem? You know what, don't answer that.]

How about when you're sitting alone with a drink in your hand.

[That...is possibly the dumbest thing that's ever come out of his mouth ever. Just how much has he had already?]

Sounds like I've got some catching up to do then.
[She downs a hearty portion of her glass.]
Though, I must say I am a little offended that you didn't invite me to join you in this inspection.

It's a very secret business. Real hush hush. I could get into trouble just for mentioning it to you.
[He takes a large swig from the bottle before setting it down and just kind of staring at it.]

[She knows him better than he would probably like. Vie rests her elbows on the bar and leans a little toward Hawke that her arm rests against his. Sipping her drink, Vie lets the silence reign before speaking again.]
I'm worried about you, Hawke. That goes without saying. Whatever it is that's on your mind, you don't have to tell me, but if you wish to talk, I'm always here.

He takes another drink, and then a breath. In the time he's known her he's come to trust her as much as he does his friends, and they are...something though he's not entirely sure what just yet.]
What kind of Champion can't even save his own friends.

And it's not enough. It wasn't enough to save my little brother, it wasn't enough to save my mother, and it wasn't enough to save my friends.
Reply
I'm sorry.
[And she means it with everything she has. Vie knows loss all too well, but it had never really crossed her mind that Hawke did as well. His mask has fooled even her.]
But I stand by what I said. It pains me to think what you've gone through, how it feels. I understand this better than you might know.
[This isn't about her. Vie says no more on that.]
If they're here, I'd suggest talking to them.
Reply
So she knows what he's going through does she? Well Hawke feels like a fool for complaining about it.]
If this was Kirkwall I wouldn't even have the chance of talking to them.
[It doesn't matter that people can come back here. They still died and he still did nothing to save them.]
