[On his quest to find out just where the hell he is, Hawke stumbles upon the library. It's a rather fortunate find in his opinion. A book would do wonders to help with his boredom, at least for a little while. Not to mention this is the perfect place to find information about his temporary place of residence

There is, however, a map. [He gives Hawke some very, very detailed instructions about where it is. Go go go, Hawke!
However, when Hawke finds it, he'll learn that it's extremely rudimentary. It gives a general overview of the layout, but there are almost no notes and there is a severe lack of detail.

[Hawke follows the directions and sure enough he comes across the map. There's a bit of disappointment when he finds it. He's hoping for something for a little less basic.]
