BTN - Police Training, Moscow Summit, Hunger Appeal, Recording Studio, Ricky May
1) Police Training
Police People have to have special taining for self defence. Most people are a little bit nervous when they first hold weapons but it has to be done. The have week training sessions every day that last 5 hours.
2) Moscow Summit
There is a war going on in Moscow because The Russian President and the American President won't unite ore something like that. They say that Russia wants to be a separate country.
3) Hunger Appeal
In some countries like Africa don't have enough water or food to survive. On June the 17th World Vision 40 Hour Famine will start. it is something that you miss food for 40 hours and get people to sponser you. There is also Food Busters that is for Under 12 - year- olds what you have to do is miss 1 lunch.
4)Recording Studio
On the Gold Coast there is a place that you can go for Fame or just for Fun. There are over 140 tapes of back-ground music. Wat you do is sing with it and keep the tape for future use. The person that invented it got the idea from America.
5) Ricky May
On Wednesday last week Ricky May Passed away from a heart attack. They found him lying on a heap on the floor where his last performance was held. He died in the ambulance just minutes before he was in hospital.
6) Solo Voyage
Kaye Cottee just got back from a Solo Voyage around the world in a boat. She said that appart froma few shocks and some rough waves sge could do it ...
*****I guess I ran out of time* My listening skills were terrible, they still are. Needless to say, I hated our weekly doses of BTN and I NEVER subject my pupils to it! Worse than writing essays about the news articles was if they teacher did a quiz on it, I always got everything wrong!******
