Part 9
“It’s like, it’s not my fault you lost your shirt! Why do I have to look for it? I swear my older brother is just… just ugh.” Yunho groaned and Jaejoong let out a little laugh.
“Yah! I’m being serious here. Can’t I rant to you while you sit there just as serious as I am?”
“Hey, I listen to you all the time! I’m just trying to stay positive so I can cheer you up, ok?” The raven haired boy said as he fiddled with his blanket.
It was one of those nights where Jaejoong was home alone and just knew there was nothing better than talking to Yunho on the phone. Sure, they could’ve just talked on MSN, but Jaejoong just liked the fact that well… Yunho had all of his attention to Jaejoong. Well, most of it. He wouldn’t be playing games in the background or talking to someone else because he was on the phone with Yunho and he would have to hold the phone to his ear and focus on listening to Jaejoong and nothing else.
That fact made him smile in content.
“Well… cheer me up then! Come on~ Make me feel better and forget about my stupid older brother!” the older boy whined, and Jaejoong couldn’t help but laugh. And he calls me a baby!
Jaejoong hummed in thought, and decided to tease him a little, “I don’t know, Yunho. I’m not sure how I’m meant to cheer you up! I guess you have to deal with it on your own. Sorry!”
Another groan, “Joongie! Come on! I’m your friend!”
“I don’t know Yunho. Are you my friend?” Jaejoong seriously enjoyed these childish whines his friend was emitting. This was priceless!
“Dammit Jaejoong! Friend’s aren’t meant to be heartless!” Yunho half-shouted, and Jaejoong gasped.
“Hey! I love my friends!”
“…Well… What about me?”
Jaejoong paused, and then blushed. Is he trying to- oh my god he is oh Christ this guy is a cheater seriously but- it’s nothing because we’re like technically best friends it’s been a year and just-
“Y-yeah…” The younger boy flushed pink and just didn’t want to deal with the weird and warm sensation spreading across his body.
Yunho just had to probe a little further, “You what Jaejoong?”
He sucked in a deep breath and murmured, “Iloveyou!”
And while he was panicking and trying to compose a sentence that he meant that in a best-friend sort of way and not anything else (because to him it sounded like a c-c-confession when it really wasn’t), his train of thought disappeared when he heard the voice on the other line.
“I love you too, Jaejoong! I feel better now.”
“G-Great!”
What is wrong with me?
