so..... Lots to say and no way to begin
According to the Mad Hatter I should Start at the beginning and when I get to the end, Stop. However this is much easier said than done.
I am now working under the USAF STS forces in what is soon changing from the 16th Special Operations Wing (16 SOW) to the 1st SOW! It's exciting to be a part of such an eventful base! I've learned how to solder and make PTT's (Push to talks.. which is what my avatar is using, btw) fix headsets, and make cables. I have also gone on a training mission, which was a full day event! AWESOME!!! I went out with the Combat Controllers and we shot at each other while chasing down the HUMMWVs and hiding in the brush. We also got to go out to an old landing strip where there was a bunch of scraps from WWII Training like rusted out tanks and crashed plains and even a few UXO's. It was freezing (60 and down is cold to me) and I landed in a pile of spurs when I was trying to reload my weapon... but other than that it was so Fun! How many times in you life do you get to say you played Man hunt with a bunch of trained guys wearing NVG's and Loaded with far more technology, infrared air crafts included, while attempting to throw them off by taking turns pissing on half a drone plain and hiding in an attempt to ambush and shoot the hell out of them!? With out being Killed!!! Seriously!? To top it off we OBLITERATED one of the HUMMWVs by driving it into a ditch then the driver accidentally had it in Park and they ripped out a lot of the undercarriage...yet they still managed to light up our asses. *sigh*
At any rate I think this got me more accepted into the squad. The guys even invited me to have a beer with them and seem to be a LOT more helpful when I am stuck on what something is or how to do it. Though I've been here for 5 weeks now, I have spent only 3 of them at work. I had two weeks on then a two week at the First Time Airmen’s Center, which we call the Commando Pride Airmen’s Center (CPAC), where we were Power Pointed to DEATH and they only did PT 3 times. I PT EVERY day in my squad where we run for 3-6 miles after doing aerobics and cardio; we hit the gym on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
All in all life is going well around here. We move into our home on Monday! Yeah! Trick or Treat to Me! Happy SAMHAIN! (it's close enough to say it.... hope y'all get some good tricks and yummy treats and a wonderful visit from loved ones passed on.
